SEXTRASH: Brazilian Death Metallers Are Back

After eight years of silence, Brazilian death metallers SEXTRASH are back. The band quit in 1997 after the tragic death of lead vocalist Oswald Scheid in a car crash.

The band have just signed a deal with Cogumelo Records and are currently working on a new album. "There's a lot of crap [out there] today and we think that this 'old school' death metal is still good enouth to play and to listen [to]. So we decided to come back and here we are," drummer Quake said in a statement.

Last month, SEXTRASH opened for KREATOR in their hometown, Belo Horizonte.

SEXTRASH will enter the studio next month to begin recording their as-yet-untitled new album, tentatively due this summer.

The CD will be the group's first full-length studio effort since 1992's "Funeral Serenade". SEXTRASH's current lineup consists of Doom (vocals),Marck (Guitars),Kruegger (bass) and Quake (drums). An official web site will be launched soon.
